Biography: BC-BRN

Heather Bacon-Shone, BC-BRN.Heather Bacon-Shone (email) joined the Auxiliary in 2002 and went active duty in 2003, graduating from the Coast Guard’s OCS in 2004. She currently serves as a Deck Watch Officer aboard CGC CYPRESS (WLB-210), a 225-foot buoy tender homeported in Mobile, AL. Previously, she served as Assistant Chief, Contingency Planning, at Maintenance and Logistics Command, Atlantic. Her Auxiliary experience includes small boat patrols, comms watchstanding, PE and vessel examinations. She was involved with the Trident program when it was new to the Auxiliary and has wide-ranging ICS experience from interagency field implementation to course development and IMH revision. She graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, with a BA and MA. In her spare time, she plays violin on a semi-professional basis.
